Super smooth neck. Cons. Average hardware and pickups. Will have to upgrade pickups, saddles and pegs. Best Usesblues, country, country rock, jazz. I was traveling for work and was in the San Jose GC when one of the sales people showed me this guitar. He mentioned that they just unboxed it. Unbelievably, the setup out of the box was almost perfect. The neck is SO smooth and has a perfect profile, not too fat, not too thin. Just right. Simply just had amazing playability right out of the box. Only downside to this guitar is that it comes with Standard hardware. Seeing that it is truly special and unique, they should have charged an extra couple hundred bucks and put the good stuff on. Now I will have to spend about 3. Another note, the pictures of this guitar dont do it justice. You really have to see it in person. Basically looks like youd imagine a thin mint cookie would look if it was a guitar. Incredible, best Tele I have played. Pros. Custom Shop Pickups. Fit And Finish. Nice New Tsa Case. Solid Rosewood Neck. Best Uses. Blues. Country. Gigs. Jam At Home. Rock. I would recommend you try one and snap it up if you like it. Did some research and Fender made some George Harrison tributes all Rosewood body and neck in the Custom Shop. The neck is so good, I wonder if they had some left over and did the deal with GC. It is really special. Go find one. 83. WOW what a wonderful guitar LUV IT LUV IT By Jack Strawfrom OC, California. Pros. Darker, rounder sound than most teles. Looks great and plays great. Rosewood neck feels great. Terrific, unique sound, superb fit and finish,Cons. A standard wooden Fender case would be better. Molded case sucks no lid on pick compartment. Best Uses. Very versatile guitar lots of different sounds. Great Guitar and Awesome Color. If I were to losebreak this guitar, Id buy it again. Pros. Aesthetically Beautiful. Belly Cut. No Load Tone Control. Rosewood Neck with Hand Rubbed Oil Finish. Sounds Beautiful. Cons. Non locking tuners not a con I prefer lockingBest Uses. Jamming. Live Performance. Recording. Wall Decorationhere is only one thing I am going to change on this guitar, and its upgrading the stock tuners to Locking Fender Tuners. The tuners that come on the guitar arent bad at all. I guess over the last few years, Ive gotten spoiled with how fast string changes are with locking tuners. Considering this is a limited run guitar, Im surprised they didnt come with locking tuners to begin with. This is rosewood done right. Pros. The neck, the neck, ohh did I mention the neck. Cons. Would pay extra for a Wilkinson Trem. At the same time this telecaster came out, there is a nice companion Stratocaster, also with a solid rosewood neck so I bought one of each. From twangy country to wailing blues, to grinding rock, the ultra fast necks go to tones and places no other Fender touches. Olympic White Finish Is Awesome. Fender Forums View topic. In my humble, uneducated opinion, you should compare that 6. Anniversary Edition to other guitars of that years. Anniversary editions. Maybe its just me. I think there are way too many Fender Anniversary Edition guitars out there. My point is that some people will automatically assume that because its an Anniversary Edition, that its naturally worth more or will hold its value. This is potentially a big mistake, especially since Fender celebrates so many anniversaries by selling guitars. Supply and demand normally determins value, except that well thought out marketing campaigns and gimmics cause some people to pay too much. Personally, I dont see value in the Anniversary part of the guitar. I only see value in the guitars playability, tonal qualities, and construction quality. Aesthetics make a small difference and rarity doesnt impact value until long in the future. So, if you compare the price of that guitar with other guitars with identical components, you might find that the implied value of the Anniversary aspect is too expensive or maybe non existant. Who knows, but at least you will know exactly what you are buying and why. By large I agree with what you said.
